Uncle Bill reports:
Friday, our first full day in Rapid City, was mostly about kicking back and relaxing. The hotel folks set us up with hoses and buckets so we could wash the bikes. The Hondas went to their shop for service and the Harley's went to theirs. The bad news was that Mike needed a new radiator. The good news was the bike is still under warranty. The bad news is that they didn't have one in stock. But they'll have it by tomorrow AM.

Once the bikes we all back and we had some lunch, we went over to the Chief Crazy Horse Monument. Impressive doesn't even begin to describe this thing. It's huge. And when it is finished it will be wonderful. The museum, gift shop, North American Indian Center all all very well done. If you are ever in this area I strongly recommend that you come see this place.

We raced some storm clouds back to the hotel and, for a change, we actually won. After dinner we went to this indoor go-cart racing place. Now, this is not your garden variety go-cart. These babies do 40 mph. They were awesome. It took me three laps to pass Alice, and I never did get by Rob.

And, finally, Mike, Greg, Moe and I went across the street to shoot some pool and have a beer or two. ('cept for Moe, who doesn't drink). Well, we sucked at shooting pool but were a hit at the Karaoke bar. The four of us up there belting out Johnny Be Good and a few others was definitely a sight. Fortunately there wasn't a camera or video recorder in the room.

Saturday is our last day here. We're planning on heading to the Badlands, weather permitting.
